Jack Ready, a former newspaper man in Virden, Oak Lake and then with the Brandon Sun is front and centre in a five-generation photograph. Jack Ready was a typesetter and occasionally a photographer and reporter too.
Jack and his wife Rubie moved to Oak Lake as a young couple, where he ran the Oak Lake Theatre, according to family history.
At 91-years, Jack Ready currently lives in the Bren-Del-Win Lodge in Deloraine, living alone since his wife’s passing one and a half years ago. They had been married for over 71 years.
