The second annual women’s conference happened in Kola on Nov. 25 and over 180 ladies were registered! Our first conference last year we prepared for around 100 people so we were overjoyed with the response we received this year. Our planning committee consisted of 10 local women from the Kola EMC Church and together with the support of many local businesses and individuals we were able to provide each woman in attendance with breakfast, lunch, coffee break, gift bags, and door prizes.
This year we had four different speakers from Manitoba and Saskatchewan, including Oak Lake’s Tara Mathew (Abbott), all speaking on our theme for this year: “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10.
It was a day filled with encouraging messages, praise and worship, great food, and time to reflect on what God has done for us all.
