Miniota ball diamonds, golf course ready for play

YOUR COMMUNITY from April 30 to May 6, 2024

MINIOTA

Our deepest sympathy is extended to Gordon and Lisa Sheane, Ruth and David Henderson, Raymond and Laurie Sheane and Andrew and Connie Sheane and their families on the death of their beloved mother and grandma Gloria Sheane. Gloria was a wonderful, kind lady who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Congratulations to Adrianna Cousins who competed in level 4 gymnastics and placed 3rd provincially in Winnipeg this past weekend.

Our golfers from near and far are pleased to be out on the Miniota Golf Course as of May 1st.

A work bee was held on the Miniota Community Centre ball diamonds this weekend to get everything ready for the season. We have 94 registered ball players this year. Play ball!

As I write this on the final day of April in our capital city of Ottawa where the tulips are blooming and the lawns and trees are green, my hope is that the April showers will bring us May flowers back home. A wonderful visit with Kevin and Julie Halipchuk and family, taking in my granddaughter Carley's school musical Frozen Jr.  As well I got to experience the city of Montreal for a day, and tour the unbelievably beautiful Notre Dame Basilica as well as other tourist attractions.

"Birds chirping around you is a beautiful realization that life is incredibly good. Let this sound be a gentle break in your routine." -Hiral Nagal

ISABELLA

Congratulations to Acadia Huberdeau in her roles as a 'Happy Villager", one of the Duloc dancers and a member of the women's chorus in the musical 'Shrek' at Strathclair this past week. Visiting with Jamie and Tana, Acadian and Deone and attending the performances to support Acadia were Bruce and Anita Cluff, Ochre Beach; Donna Martin, Traci Cluff and Grant Trippel, Winnipeg; Kelly Tataryn and Shelby Howard, Brandon; Shannon Huberdeau and Roland Huberdeau, St. Lazare and Ron Huberdeau and Kathy Meekins, Isabella.

Our farmers are out on the land, and with seeding underway we wish all our farmers and their families a safe spring. Happy seeding!
