For the month of February, Arts Mosaic presents a solo exhibition by a young, vibrant artist, Dhairya Vaidya.

The opening of the exhibition on Feb. 9, features a musical set with Krista Pederson. Here, you can meet Dhairya and view his works.

Born in 2002, Vaidya is an undergrad fine arts student majoring in digital art and design in a 2+2 program with Brandon University and Assiniboine Community College. His works explore human psychology, nature, and expression of diverse emotions including self-identity.

Vaidya started attending drawing classes in Gr. 4 and by Gr. 7, art became his passion. Since then, he has been trained in various mediums including acrylics, watercolour, oils, graphite, charcoal, colour pencil. His style is illustrative with preference in realistic rendering, and textures - especially in portraiture.

He has a structured workflow and spends time thinking about the artwork visually and conceptually before putting it down on a surface. He jots down his thoughts and ideas, makes thumbnail studies, and then starts the actual artwork.

Vaidya is inspired by observing people and nature around him. His curiosity to learn more and his interest in psychology are the guiding forces of his inspiration. He is always looking forward to exploring new things, meeting artists, building connections with people.

Bring a friend or several and enjoy the evening at the Arts Mosaic artist’s reception in the Historic CP Station gallery located on Sixth Ave. in Virden.
