Denturist Sahba Zehtab-Jadid of Legacy Denture Clinic in Brandon is expanding his practice into the former MNP building in Virden.

Just a month and a half after learning a new dentist is moving to downtown Virden comes word that a denture clinic is now planning to establish here.

Legacy Denture Clinic of Brandon is setting up a satellite office in the former Meyers Norris Penny building on Queen St. West near Seventh Ave.

Denturist Sahba Zehtab-Jadid purchased the building left vacant more than three years ago when the accounting firm moved across the street to its new location.

He said, “Virden has been on my radar since I came back to Brandon after finishing my schooling in Vancouver in 2008.

“I felt it was a community which was set to grow and saw there was a need as there was nothing from Brandon to Moosomin.”

Zehtab-Jadid says he has patients all over western Manitoba and southeastern Saskatchewan whose travel times would be greatly reduced by having a closer option.

“I also realize we have people who could benefit from having me come right to their care home/ retirement home who otherwise would go without treatment.”

Zehtab-Jadid will visit Virden once a week starting this fall but his goal is to have the office open five days a week. Since his denture practice only needs a portion of the building, he plans to rent out the rest of the space to other professional services.

The Empire-Advance recently reported that dentist Joseph Thiessen will be moving his practice into the former Martin’s Pharmacy in downtown Virden.
