Tundra Oil & Gas presented donations to three health auxiliaries and three school divisions Mar. 8 as part of its 2017 Virden office United Way campaign.

Tundra’s Winnipeg, Calgary, and Virden offices each run an annual internal United Way fundraising campaign, and funds raised from staff donations are matched by its shareholder, James Richardson & Sons, Limited.

Tundra recognizes the importance of giving back to the communities in which it operates and therefore, Virden-Southwest-Park West School Divisions and Elkwood-Gainsborough-Virden Health Auxiliaries were chosen this year.

Where the $$ goes

Elkwood Manor’s auxiliary group will be purchasing new sinks and countertops for all rooms at the Manor with the donated funds.

Kent Reid of Fort la Bosse School Division says the money will go towards their Healthy Breakfast Program. And Cindy Cassils says Tundra’s gift will fund the summer literacy program in her community.

Since 2010, staff at Tundra Oil & Gas have donated $171,545 to a variety of deserving local groups and charities.
