With 129 students of dance in the Virden Dance Club, tap, jazz, ballet, stage dance, performances packed Virden’s Aud Theatre, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Mar. 20 and 21.
Eight groups danced in two different numbers; graduating dancers Ashlyn Clarke, Geena Dryden, Krista Hall were honoured.
Dance Club director Kristen Yuel has been teaching dance at Virden for 16 years and she plans to return next year to continue to develop Virden and area dancers. Yuel is the assistant director for Steppin’ Time As a Certified Instructor in the Al Gilbert Syllabus, Bachelor of Education she teachers tap, pre-ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical dance.
To instruct the young classes the dance teacher relied upon the help of eleven young assistants: Shelby, Ashlyn, Krista, Cassie, Jillian, Lexie, Olivia, Brooklyn, Abbey, Vanessa and Samantha.
Yuel also applauded her teaching partner, Courtney Morgan, who will also be teaching at Virden again next year.
