This young customer at Virden Farmers’ Market enters her ballot on the first market day of the season last Friday.
Board member Noni Rolston says the draw system has changed a bit to simplify things.
This year, every purchase at the Market gets you one ballot to put in the cream can. Then, on Aug. 3, six ballots will be drawn for prizes of either $100 or $50 in Market Bucks.
Those bucks can be spent at any of the Farmers Market vendors until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, baking, plants and home decor dominated the booths last Friday while growers work on their produce. Rolston says that means stalls are available for weekly or monthly rent, just call to inquire.
