Elite hockey camp held in Virden

Jerrard said there are about 50 kids ages six and up in this year’s hockey camp, with three different age groups. Age groups are children born between 2009-2012 called the Ducks, 2006-2012 who are called the Kings, and 2003-2008 called the Sharks. He added that players will receive and hour of dry land training and an hour of ice time training each day of the camp.

Head Instructor, Paul Jerrard has over 30 years of experience as a former professional hockey player and coach. Jerrard played in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 Hockey, International Hockey League, American Hockey League, and the National Hockey League. He has instructed numerous hockey schools across North America, and in Europe.

Jerrard Sport Hockey camps and clinics provide all young athletes with the opportunity to experience world class training and development. Programs teach skaters to learn the game of hockey, increase their skill level, and train with a former professional hockey player.

Some of Jerrard’s credentials and experience include: he graduated from Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, Wilcox. SK.; he wasRound Draft NHL Entry Draft pick of the New York Rangers 9th  in 1983 and was a four year letter winner (NCAA Division 1 Hockey) Draft pick to New York Rangers; he graduated from Lake Superior State University; he was a member of the 1997 Calder Cup winning Hershey Bears (AHL); he is aStrength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and member of the National Strength and Conditioning Society.
