Union Bank Robbed of Over $7,000.00 Cash and a Large Amount in Victory Bonds That Were Unregistered.
Burglary Previously Attempted.
Bandits entered the Union Bank of Canada’s branch at Melita, Man., early Saturday morning and blew open the safe, getting away with cash to the amount of $7,700.00 and Victory bonds to the probable value of $22,000.00, making a total of approximately $30,000.00.
