Next Friday, June 22, is the day upon which the voters of Manitoba will say what they think about having liquor available as a beverage in Manitoba. Four votes for prohibition and one against have been recorded in Manitoba since the question first came to the polls 31 years ago. The vote next Friday will be the sixth ballot in this province. Nineteen days later, on July 11, a second poll will be taken upon the petition of the Beer and Wine league, which provides for an amendment to the Manitoba Temperance act to permit the sale of beer and wine with meals at hotels.
