Ken is a sports columnist who has been writing "An Oil Slick" since 1994, reporting on local, provincial, national and international sporting events and offering his opinions, views and comments on various topics and issues in the sporting world. "Booosh" is a Brandon University grad who played 2 years of junior and 4 years of university hockey. He was a high school teacher at Virden Collegiate for 36 years with 25 of those years being a phys. ed. instructor, before retiring in 2013. He has a extensive background in sports being a 10 time provincial champion in 3 different sports; hockey (Junior A with the Dauphin Kings), baseball (minor baseball as well as a 3 Junior titles) and basketball (coach Varsity HS Girls). One of the junior baseball teams he was on won a silver medal at the Canada Summer Games. He is also an accomplished official having officiated at an elite level in hockey (Junior, AAA Midget, Victoria State Championship (in Australia), baseball (MSBL, SWBL), football, basketball, volleyball and track and field.
