Dudley’s Ambulatory Surgical Hospital has once again joined forces with the Children’s Country Fair for one of the largest free children’s event in the Brandon area.
The Children’s Country Fair featuring the DASH tent will be held on Sunday, May 31 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Kirkcaldy Heights School grounds in Brandon, located on 10 Knowlton Drive next to the Sportsplex.
The DASH tent is where children of all ages can bring their favourite stuffed animal to this hospital-like setting for treatment and care by Prairie Mountain Health staff. It’s a great way to educate families about our services, procedures/equipment and promotes healthy living in a friendly and fun way.
Attendance at this event has continued to grow and the region receives very positive feedback from parents and the community.
This is a great opportunity to provide education about a multitude of our programs and services in one venue and in one day. Joining us under the DASH Tent this year will also be our partners in health, Canadian Blood Services where you can find out your blood type, Child and Family Services and Healthy Smile, Happy Child.
Last year, over 850 children plus their families visited the tent. Children left with their own bag of goodies, a smile on their face and a hug from Dudley the Prairie Mountain Health mascot.
The rest of the grounds are filled with even more fun for the children. The Westman Dreams for Kids Children’s Country Fair has many other free activities planned for the day. Some of the fun includes sparkle tattoos, a kids obstacle course, kite flying, inflatable bouncers, treasure dig and hay rides just to name a few. There is also stage entertainment all day long along with refreshment stands to keep you going.
Make sure you mark your calendar for Sunday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kirkcaldy Heights school grounds next to the Sportsplex for a fun time and great way to kick off the month of June.
