Kenton By Paulette Wiens

Canada Day celebrations in Kenton began with a delicious breakfast hosted by the Kenton United Church at the Kenton Memorial Hall.

Following breakfast people congregated at the hall to register for the Kenton and Area Lions Club Car Rally. Approximately 125 poker hands were sold and questionnaires were handed out.

Winners of the Car Rally were: Robert Stevenson, Donna Hunt and Douglas Stevenson. The questionnaire winner was Roma Stevenson.

A deep-pit barbecue beef/pork supper and all the trimmings was hosted by the Harding Agricultural Society and held at the hall. Some of this supper’s proceeds help to put on the Harding Fair every year.

We are very blessed to have dedicated volunteers like this in our small rural village of Kenton. Keep up the good work everyone.

The community is glad that Jack Houston is home from hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those in the area dealing with health issues or bereavement.
