Donors were especially generous to the Virden and Area Memory Tree last holiday season.
Karen Galbraith presented a cheque for $4,500 last week to Mayor Jeff McConnell, about $1,000 more than the usual total.
The Cemetery Improvement Association has managed the Memory Tree for about 18 years.
Galbraith says they’re planning to build washrooms at the Virden Cemetery with the money.
