Checking in with Evergreen Place and Miniota goings-on
hands

Evergreen Place by Geraldine Fowler

Sylvia Heslip spent a few windy days at Clear Lake this week.

Penny Jones also spent Sunday at Clear Lake.

Joyce Braybook and Gerry Fowler had entries at the Needlework section at the Sacred Heart Hall. Several other ladies joined them viewing the great selection of veggies, wow they were gorgeous, as was the flower display of individual and arrangements. Some very talented people.

Carol Gabriel's son visited over the weekend.

Sunday guest with Chris Leach was his niece Debbie Crey of Estevan, Saskatchewan.

Irene Rowand went touring the west country on Sunday with her daughter Faye Hi Eagle and family.

Sherald Joynt judged Rossburn Fair last weekend.

Visitors with Tom Tyhy were daughters Amanda Kenny and Jennifer (Cole) along with grandchildren Cache and Dayton Flett of Grande Prairie, Alberta.

Helen Marten had her grandson visit on Saturday and attended the Elkhorn Western Weekend races on Sunday, accompanied by niece Joanne Martens.

She also watched a ball game as a nephew was participating.

The residents at Evergreen express our sympathy to Murray Hammond on the passing of his stepfather Hans Schemann. Our thoughts are also with the whole family (Edna and the girls).

Several residents took in the Draft Horse Show despite the heat. Many from here took in Butch Fleury's music in the Park.

We have had some of the community gardeners dropping off veggies already. These contributions are greatly appreciated. Drop off inside front door.

Miniota By Bev Peel

Belated Happy Birthday greetings to Marg Taylor who celebrated her 90th birthday on Aug. 3 at the Miniota Community Centre with 83 of her family attending. The afternoon included family pictures, a slide presentation, sing song and songs performed by great grandchildren. Then, grandchildren told of special times spent with Grandma Marg. The evening concluded with a cold plate supper and birthday cake, plus plenty of visiting!

The Miniota Day Camp lead by Tatum Amy and Alyssa Corr that is held at the community rink, brought sixteen children to the Miniota Museum for a tour with museum members, Kay Lelond and Bev Peel.

Congratulations from the Miniota community to Kelly and Chelsea Gardham on the birth of a baby girl, and to Cory Gardham and Trisha Guay on the birth of boy.

A Stowe reunion was held at Wayne Poppel's on the weekend of August 10th.

Murray and Bev Peel hosted a family gathering, supper and evening on Saturday, Aug. 11 on a beautiful day with pictures taken by Nicole Peel.
