It’s an unusual situation, considering the Liberals have been in power in Ottawa the last four years.
So far, no Liberal candidates have been named yet to run in either Brandon-Souris or Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa – the two ridings that dominate western Manitoba, roughly separated by the TransCanada Highway.
As of this writing Tuesday, Sept. 24, the nominated candidates in these two electoral districts are:
Brandon-Souris candidates:
Ashley Duguay – New Democratic Party
Vanessa Hamilton - Independent
Rebecca Hein – Christian Heritage Party
Rob Lussier – People’s Party of Canada
Larry Maguire – Conservative Party of Canada
Bill Tiessen – Green Party of Canada
Dauphin - Swan River – Neepawa candidates:
Frank Godon – People’s Party of Canada
Jenni Johnson – Christian Heritage Party
Laverne Lewycky – New Democratic Party
Daniel Mazier – Conservative Party of Canada
Katharine Storey – Green Party of Canada
Nominations for federal candidates close on Monday, Sept. 30.
