Elkhorn school gym was recently transformed into a special Mother’s Day plane trip as students and mothers were greeted by school staff dressed as air crew. The head
flight stewardess was part-time teacher Racquel Halland  made everyone comfortable as the plane took off on the special flight.

The head pilot, Mr. Barrett welcomed and the flight was filled with games that showed how important mothers were and what a tough job they had.

The special inflight entertainment was a story read by Elkhorn school librarian, Tawnis McLeod, called Mars Needs Mothers, complete with pictures on the big gym screen.

There were other games such as the “shoe game” and “pass the parcel” and some more videos on why our mothers are so important in our lives.

The special inflight meals were colourful cupcakes and blue ice tea served by the staff. Pam Jamieson, one of the school staff organizers said about the event, “We’re always
happy to show our gratitude and encouragement for all the moms who support the Elkhorn School and staff, as well as all other moms around the world, as they do the hardest job there is.”

The annual school event of the past few years brought out a large number of mothers, some who came in fancy dress.
