The annual Miniota and Welcome night was held on Friday, April 12 with a pot luck supper at 6:30 p.m., followed by entertainment from the school choirs!
There were 28 people welcomed into the community: David Johnson and Rachel Lougheed, John Fingas, Chloe Hayward, Keara Vermette, Baylee Gabrielle and Lane, Corena Tumak, Don and Sandra Armitage, Joe Spanics and Nevaeh, Esther Bergstrom and Ryton Thompson, Danny and Jaelynn Carter and Brantley, Dan Bryant and Mariah Graham, Faye (Lelond) Campbell, Sadie Luba, Miki Wada, Brooke Johnston, Andrew and Jeannine Cymbalasty, Julian, Melody, and Jacob.
Four firefighters were awarded for their service: Jeff Lelond - five years, Jody Evans - ten years, Patrick Cousins - fifteen years, Brad Thompson - fifteen years.
There were nine people from various areas that received the Bill Clark Memorial Volunteer Award for 2019.
