The last Farmer’s Market at Oak Lake Beach of the season was held Saturday, Sept. 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Next year the farmers market will start July long weekend.

Summer 2017 brought many MINIONS back to P.W.R. Summer Day Camp. We had another terrific summer. Everyday we did something new and exciting to follow along with our theme days.

In the southwest area of Manitoba there are a lot of retired teachers and school staff and several times a year we get together for lunch and talk over old times and new adventures.

At the Virden Garden Club and Virden Agricultural Society show and competition finely designed bouquet arrangements, delicious vegetables and this lovely Canada 150 themed quilt are examples of the many fine entries, on Aug.

On Thursday, Aug. 17 Sunrise Credit Union and Valleyview Consumers Co-op presented a cheque to the Virden Spray Park Committee for $7,000 at the Sunrise Credit Union in Virden.

Four large bouncy castles could be seen from #1 Highway on Saturday, Aug. 12 when Virden Mainline Motors held their second annual “Family Fun Day”. Children of all ages, along with parents enjoyed a day of play at Virden Mainline Motors.

– Parents and children camping at Oak Island Resort campground, at Oak Lake Beach, enjoyed an afternoon of laser tag and an inflatable obstacle course on the campground greenspace on Saturday, Aug. 12.
