Every little girl likes to dress up her dolls, and Gail Chrisp, owner of GG Boutique has all the outfits to do so. Chrisp, from Reston, MB, started GG Boutique, clothing for dolls, four years ago.

Retired from teaching in Reston, Chrisp says, “I needed a hobby, and it’s a great creative outlet.”  She started sewing doll clothes for her grand-daughters. Realizing how much material she had up in her attic, Chrisp just kept on sewing.

Chrisp’s selection of doll clothes is vast. There are bright coloured and patterned summer dresses, formal satin and lace gowns, shirt and pant suits, and flannel pjama sets that come with a quilt. The clothing fits the American Girl doll or any 18 inch doll.

Chrisp uses one pattern and modifies it to create different outfits. It takes approximately a morning to sew one dress. All of the clothing uses velcro, which makes it easy for children to put the clothes on, and take them off their dolls by themselves. The clothing can range from eight to fifteen dollars.

Owner of GG Boutique, Gail Chrisp from Reston, MB at Oak Lake Farmer’s Market on Jul. 8.
