Restoring a heritage home? Do your research with Coquitlam Archives first

Coquitlam Archives has a new online exhibit up to help landowners, developers restore heritage homes in the city.

One of the best restorations of a Coquitlam heritage home is the former Paré residence, located at 307 Begin St.

Built in the early 1900s, the property saw at least two different structures over the century including the most recent revitalization under a city agreement.

Integrating past with present is the theme of Coquitlam Archives’ latest online exhibit, titled Built History: Coquitlam’s Heritage Homes.

The display, which highlights the city’s 27 heritage addresses, is designed to be a resource for landowners and developers looking to update a heritage house.

It also includes information on how to search old property assessment cards, census records and tax rolls, and gives search links such as BC Archives, and Library and Archives Canada.
