After circling the ring in the gleaming white vis a vis carriage, Lindsay White is honoured with the Gerry Holmes volunteer award, Friday, Aug. 18 presented by Sky Brown, on behalf of the Virden rodeo committee.

A “Sculpt & Sip” was held Aug. 11 at Gopher Creek Coffee Co. in Virden, led by Oak Lake paverpol sculpture artist Karyn Kowal. Over ten people attended, spending the evening creating their own sculptures.

Dianne Conrad, Art Facilitator and artist, from Miniota will be tentatively publishing a children’s book by the end of 2017. The book titled “Dama Grows” will feature ten of Conrad’s paintings, and is written in rhyme by Conrad herself.

It was a beautiful morning to view the gardens and yards on the list for the Virden Garden Club self-guided tours, Saturday, Jul. 29.

For the month of August at Arts Mosaic in Virden, married couple Myrna and Moe Gray are displaying their work. The couple’s daughter, Charlene Gowler, designed the display of the art for Myrna and Moe. A reception for the artists will be held Aug.

Mother – daughter duo, with their powerful and passionate singing, engaged a crowd of viewers on Thursday evening, Jul. 20 at Victoria Park in Virden. Tanya Martin was born and raised in Reston, MB, where she still calls home.

Brinna Tough, from Virden, has been designing jewelry for over 15 years, and has her own business of facebook called “Jewelry By Brinna. She says she designs a little bit of everything.

Music In The Park on Wednesday, Jul.8 hosted the Moosemin duo Old 21 at 7:00 p.m.. Locals attending relaxed to the band’s alternative country –rock, with lyrics that tell a story.

Local artists displayed their work throughout gardens in Birtle and area, for the fifth Gallery In The Garden held on Saturday, Jul. 8. The event was hosted by the Gallery In The Garden committee to raise funds for the Center in Birtle.
