A typical week on the beat?

In a sense, there is no typical week for Westman RCMP.

During the week of Jan. 10 to 16, the Westman RCMP dealt with 40 police activities and were dispatched to the following locations:

Jan. 13 – RCMP recovered a stolen vehicle in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth. The vehicle was originally stolen from Regina, Saskatchewan. The investigation is ongoing.

Jan. 13 –A residence in Virden for a report of a disturbance. Upon police attending, it was determined that a female inside the residence had thoughts of harming herself. She was transported to the hospital for further assistance.

Jan. 14 –Virden for a report of a female threatening self-harm. She was transported to the hospital via EMS for assistance.

Jan. 15 –At 3:45 a.m. to a local business in Virden for a report of a three-hit alarm. Upon police attending, it was observed that the building had been breached. After searching the building, an intoxicated 27-year-old male was located asleep in a closet with chips, salsa, and a bottle of pop. The male was arrested and transported back to the Virden detachment. He was released on a future Court date.

RCMP also responded to two traffic collisions and three wellbeing checks. Nine traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
