A Very Virden Christmas decorating contest brought out the best in residential winter yards and businesses with lights, slogans, and décor. December did it's part by providing clean white snow that enhanced the spectacular efforts.
Voter response was strong. In the Residential category, 1052 votes were cast. Winners this year were: The Gibson’s ‘North Pole’ (357 votes). James and Susan Hay’s ‘Snowman Home’ was a runner-up.
Among Virden's business competitors 576 votes were cast. NuArts’s ‘Whoville Salon’ took first place with Carly Milburn’s artful decorating receiving 147 votes.
