Barrel racers receive awards at the 5th Annual Don't Give a Buck

Don't Give a Buck barrel racing jackpot was held at Virden in the outdoor arena.

The 5th Annual Don't Give a Buck Barrel Racing Jackpot held May 21 and 22 in Virden outdoor riding arena paid out to winners in a 4D format. 1D horses are the fastest and set the standard. The divisions give an opportunity to more competitors to earn money. There’s an award for the fastest run, but also money if you happen to fall in one of the lower divisions.

Buckles, blankets, custom made items were among the many prizes. Competitors included Peewee, Youth, Select, Open, Derby, Futurity, and a new award, the Breeder’s Challenge. The challenge is a new addition to the competition to highlight area breeders.

Jacqueline Rookes of Elkhorn (not pictured) won the 3D Select on Hottie N' Saucey, with an average time 18.928. Winners in the Youth category received a gift card and cooler.
