Public attending the fundraiser enjoyed appetizers and a large meal prepared by Thelma Quinn. Hot roast beef, sweet and sour meatballs, turkey with cranberry sauce, cabbage rolls, and perogies were part the delicious meal.

A silent auction and live auction were a portion of the evening entertainment. There was beautiful wildlife artwork raffled off at the door. An astounding 3 Tier Raffle was set up with dozens of locally donated prizes, as well as Ducks Unlimited merchandise. The many other raffles included: the Red Dot Raffle, the Blind Raffle, the High Flyer event, and the In For A Fin draw. Participants at the fundraiser were enthusiastic and excited, with plenty of opportunities to win great prizes.

Since 1938, Ducks Unlimited Canada, has been working with farmers, ranchers, partners, and government to ensure that landowners are rewarded for environmental caretaking participation. They offer programs and experts to help people protect and restore wetlands, plant waterfowl-friendly crops, and use other sustainable practices in their operations. Ducks Unlimited Canada/Manitoba website states that as much as 90% of wetlands have been drained in areas of southern Manitoba. Drainage is done to increase usable acres for agriculture and urban development.
