The Elkhorn community Splash Park is closer to its $375,000 goal with a recent donation from Tundra Oil and Gas Partnership.
The presentation of $15,000 was made by Jason Lewis, their surface land representative, on behalf of the company; and he said it was one of his happiest jobs. “This support from Tundra Oil and Gas is our way of helping area communities that we live and work in,” he said.
Cassidy Asselstine, a member of the splash park fundraising team said that with this donation they are three quarters of the way to their goal and hopefully, by the fall we might reach our goal.”
The group is waiting for responses on some grant applications and plan to hold a few more community fundraising projects.
Said Jolene Toder, another project member, “This new facility will have open access to all with mobility problems and for all ages.” She went on to add, “This project has been a community builder, bringing in all types to help us.”
