Excellence in Economic Development awards upcoming

The Economic Developers Association of Manitoba (EDAM) is pleased to announce their 5th Annual Manitoba Economic Development Awards to recognize excellence in Economic Development across the province of Manitoba.
The Economic Developers Association of Manitoba (EDAM) is pleased to announce their 5th Annual Manitoba Economic Development Awards to recognize excellence in Economic Development across the province of Manitoba. 
Four categories are represented each year: Rising Star, Project of the Year, Marketing Excellence, and Award of Distinction. This year there are 16 nominations within the four categories. The awards will be held in Virden during the EDAM Fall Forum November 17 - 19.
“These past couple years have included making adjustments and pivoting. Economic development professionals across the province have proven to be resilient, they deserve to be recognized. Congratulations to all the nominees,” stated EDAM Chairperson, Tyler King. 
The rising star award celebrates an individual in the field of economic development whose accomplishments have made a significant contribution in the field of economic development and demonstrates exceptional best practices.
Project of the Year, recognizes a municipality, CDC, town, group, or committee that has undertaken a project or activity in the last eighteen months that has or will have significant and long-term economic effect. 
Marketing Excellence is awarded to a municipality, CDC, town, group or committee that has undertaken a marketing initiative in their community/region in the last 18 months that has, or will have, significant and long-term economic effect. 
The Award of Distinction is presented to an individual in the field of economic development whose accomplishments have made a significant contribution in the field of economic development and demonstrates exceptional best practices such as providing leadership, mentorship and motivation to fellow community development practitioners, cultivating community economic development in Manitoba. 
EDAM is a dynamic organization which aims to connect, educate and inform those working in the field of economic development in Manitoba. “We are fortunate to have a strong sector of economic development practitioners and activities in Manitoba,” said King.
