Jul. 31 at the prior Lion’s playground (at the corner of Fifthth Ave and Lyons St.) has seen its final day, as removal of the equipment was done in preparation for the future Skatepark location.
A live auction was held at the park starting at 5:30 p.m. with auctioneer, Robin Hill, auctioning off the vintage playground equipment. Barbecued hotdogs and hamburgers were for sale to all who attended the auction.
Excavation of the grounds in preparation for cement to be poured, will be the next step towards completing the Skatepark. The committee hopes the park will be completed by this fall, but realistically expects completion in the spring of 2018.
