Fashions on parade in Elkhorn

It's informative entertainment when new and classic fashions are modeled along with a running commentary.

The fashion show is back and women of all ages attended. The Elkhorn business, Samantha's Boutique: The Trendy Store with the Pink Door, held its annual spring/summer fashion show at the Elk's Club Hall with a colourful display of fashion in a morning show, April 30.

The event attracted a large audience both in person and those who viewed it online.

This was not a fashion runway with six-foot-tall plus models, who weighed 100 pounds. No, it featured fashions and styles for women of all ages and sizes.

The models were local women from the community who looked their best in the outfits from Samantha’s Boutique.

A special speaker, Haley Linski a self-love and body acceptance advocate, had been arranged for the fashion show but she was called away at the last moment. However, Sam (Samantha) delivered a few highlights of the presentation.

Some of her key points: ‘If you love it, put it on and wear it’; ‘My body is mine and I have the power over it!’ and ‘Get out of your comfort zone and try new things.’

For those who wanted some extra touches, there was a makeup consultant on hand.

During the show, a surprise visit from a fashion dinosaur presented a sign saying ‘these deals are extinct so get them before they’re gone!’

At the conclusion of the morning show, there were a number of free draws, that included the live flower displays on each table.

Sam later said, “I was so pleased with the turnout for the event, and the support my shop has been given by the local and surrounding communities, and the help of all the models and behind the scene people who made this show happen.”

In the afternoon her shop was open for shopping and browsing.
