The Superintendent report included several resolutions for approval of the hiring of teaching staff for the 2023-2024 school year as well as one teaching position to the end of this school year. Motions were presented to approve Elkhorn and Reston schools’ participation in badminton provincials in Winnipeg, and for Elkhorn School’s grade 4/5 swimming trip to Souris.
Board of Trustees approved Limited Teacher General Agreement for Hunter Louttit commencing May 8, 2023, and concluding June 30, 2023.
Board of Trustees also approved the Teacher General Agreements for Samantha Simms, Alexa Park and Erin Frith commencing Sept. 5, 2023, and concluding June 28, 2024.
The Supervisor of Operations reported that the bus ridership program will start this fall in our schools.
In maintenance, the five-year capital plan has been submitted to the Department of Education for consideration and the summer maintenance schedule for schools is being compiled.
The Board of Trustees reviewed policies AD to AEB. These policies deal with the division’s mission and values, including a commitment to safe schools, and were referred back to Senior Administration for further amendments.
