Approximately 175 figure skaters from Manitoba and Saskatchewan took part in the 2023 Fun Skate Competition hosted by Skate Virden at Tundra Oil & Gas Place on Jan. 6 and 7.
On Jan. 7, the second day of the annual Fun Skate, the audience was treated to an exhibition performance by Rory Greenbank, a 16-year-old novice skater from the Moosomin Figure Skating Club. Greenbank, who trains in Virden under coach Patty Hole, placed second overall at the Skate Saskatchewan Sectionals in Melfort in December. This earned her a spot to compete at the Skate Canada Challenge in Regina from January 25 to 28.
