Glock Day at the range gave the public an opportunity to come out to the firing range and try a number of different calibre Glock handguns. Everyone who came up to the firing line was met by a trained range safety officer who oversaw and explained all the safety and operation aspects of the firearm you were about to try.

The event brought out approximately 110 people of all ages, including whole family groups. Glock representatives were on hand to explain the products in detail, while down the hill from the range, the ladies of the Lenore Women’s Institute ran a lunch-time barbecue in aid of the Woodworth Fire Department.

Wolverine also donated all profits from the ammunition sales to the Westman Special Olympics.

One lucky ammo purchaser was eligible to win a Glock handgun, if all legal requirements were met by the winner.

It was a perfect day for the event and crowds got bigger as the day went on, holding their handful of tickets to try out nine millimeter, 40 millimeter and 45 calibre handguns.

The Wolverine shop was open all day, with scratch and win discounts of five to 50 percent off on all instore purchases.

Pat Hipwell, co-owner of the shop said, “We had a wonderful day at the range with people coming from Winnipeg, Boissevain, Selkirk, Regina, Weyburn, Brandon and Moosomin to take part. There were a lot of family groups, first timers, and even a bachelor party group. We were pleased to help out the local fire department and Westman Special Olympics and to safely introduce first-time shooters to the hobby of recreational shooting.”
