Got a tip on property crime at Salt Lake or the RM of Archie-Ellice?

During the week of June 6 to 12, the Westman RCMP dealt with 83 police activities.

Some of the calls that the Westman RCMP responded include the following:

June 6 – to Sioux Valley for a report of a vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle driver was believed to be intoxicated. It was also reported that a passenger in the vehicle was believed to be in possession of a firearm. After extensive patrols, the suspect vehicle was located abandoned at a local residence. A suspect has been identified; the investigation is ongoing.

June 6 – to Salt Lake for a report of damaged property. It was reported that a bench had the legs ripped off of it. The mischief appeared to have occurred overnight Saturday (June 4th). Anyone with information pertaining to this crime is encouraged to contact the Virden RCMP. An anonymous tip can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.

June 7 – to Sioux Valley for a report of an assault. The caller reported a female stopped her vehicle, exited her vehicle, and then proceeded to punch another female several times prior to leaving the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

June 8 – to Sioux Valley for a report that an adult female threw a shoe an adult male. Subsequent to investigation, it was determined that the female was just throwing her shoe on the ground after taking it off, and accidentally struck the male’s foot. No medical attention was required. Charges are not being pursued by police.

June 8 –to RM of Ellice Archie for a report of a vehicle theft. The vehicle was located by the registered owner the following day at an approach to a field. The vehicle was towed and processed. Anyone with any information pertaining to this crime is encouraged to contact the Virden RCMP. An anonymous tip can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.

June 11 – to Sioux Valley for a report of an assault. Upon police attending, the victim refused to speak about the assault however he did take the opportunity to report a stolen vehicle.

June 11 – RCMP received a call from an upset female reporting her vehicle broke down on the Highway. She reported that she and her husband have been waiting for five hours. Her husband then took over the phone and said the tow truck would be there in 30 minutes and not to worry.

June 12 – a residence in Virden for a report that an adult male had been assaulted. The male had several lacerations on his face and was transported to the hospital for further examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Westman RCMP also responded to six wellbeing checks, and four suspicious person calls; 20 enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
