Coming right up on Fathers’ Day weekend is the second annual Elkhorn Community Dayz, with the highly anticipated grand opening of the spray park. The water park was a mere gleam in the organizers’ eye in the fall of 2015, but becomes a reality for the community next weekend.
Along with kid’s and adult activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Elk’s Hall, there are other activities including a sidewalk sale and noon barbecue on Saturday.
There will be an opportunity to purchase a car wash; and there’s free admission into Elkhorn Auto Museum that day.
In the evening there will be a Community Dayz social.
Part of the proceeds this year will be ear-marked for Kevin Tutthill, who was injured in an industrial accident in the last week of May.
On Sunday, Elkhorn’s Amazing race gets going at 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with registration taking place at Elkhorn School.
Kid Zone in the park goes from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and then it’s time for the Spray Park opening ceremony and the fun that will follow in this water feature.
