Kenton rink was humming on March 6 as parents and community members from Hamiota, Lenore, and Kenton came to see the Kenton Ice Show. “Welcome to Candy Land” was presented by the Kenton Skate Club. A well-organized evening reflected the ongoing diligence of the program where even the smallest skaters had the opportunity to learn.
Supper (mac and cheese) was served upstairs to fuel the skaters prior to the show, which started at 6:15 p.m.
Kenton’s well maintained rink featured a natural ice skating surface. Cold March weather meant it was in superb condition.
Each age group had a handful of skaters. From toddlers to teens they skated programs demonstrating skills acquired during the season with instructor Naomi Best and assistants, Elie Slimmon, Ricki Hill and Emily Hunter.
