Irwin Automotive is celebrating 45 years of customer service on April 19 and they are still going strong in continuing quality service in repairs and maintenance for patrons in Virden, Reston, Pipestone, Souris, Brandon, and areas of Saskatchewan.
The business opened in 1976, with Lynn and Gail Irwin being the business owners and now their son Dick has taken over the automotive shop along Highway #2 at Sinclair, Man.
In recognition of their years of serving the community and surrounding areas, the business has a generous display of prizes consisting of travel mugs, t-shirts, tote bags and hats upon entering the store in celebration of their 45 years of customer service. All customers that have entered their name will have a chance to win one of these prizes at their upcoming draw.
“For the most part, our staff is pretty consistent with the average employee span being between seven and 10 years here with us,” says Dick. “We are close to the Saskatchewan border, and I would say 50 per cent of our business comes from there as well. Typically, 95 per cent of our business is related to the repairs of automotive, light truck, medium truck, highway truck repairs and trailers of course.”
Irwin Automotive also provides oil changes, brake repairs, servicing air conditioning and CAA Roadside Assistance. “We still provide gas and diesel, and we do vehicle inspections on everything other than motorcycles and school buses. Those are two specialty areas that we have never really gotten into.
“As of now, we have a staff of 13 of us which includes my mom and me. My mom is not full time all the time, but she is the thread that holds this place together most of the time,” adds Dick.
“We are open Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. right through and we don’t close for lunch or anything like that. All our staff is typically here Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and because we run 10-hour days, half of the staff has Mondays off and the other half has the Friday off.”
With 10,000+ square feet of shop, Irwin Automotive continues to provide outstanding quality service to their customers in, around and outside of the province. Their trained technicians can handle any job big or small, and along with their state-of-the-art alignment equipment, customers’ safety is a priority.
The gang at Irwin Automotive appreciates their regular patrons over the years, along with the travelling public.
