K-9 officer Ceto has once again helped police officers in a peaceful capture of a suspect.
On Sept. 3, at approximately 12:30 a.m. the Manitoba First Nations Police Service K-9 Unit were called to assist in a pursuit in progress, in Waywayseecappo First Nation.
Police were in pursuit of an impaired driver in a stolen vehicle, with approximately three occupants in the
vehicle.
After a lengthy pursuit, the vehicle was abandoned, and a perimeter was set up with assistance of the
Waywayseecappo Band Security Officers.
Police Service K-9 CETO obtained a strong track from the vehicle through thick bush and after approximately 15 minutes, one of the suspects was located facedown in the bush attempting to hide from
Ceto.
A 32-year-old male from Waywayseecappo First Nation is facing charges of:
▪ Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
▪ Resist/Obstructs Peace Officer
Two other individuals are still at large, and Arrest Warrants have been issued.
