K-9 officer Ceto has once again helped police officers in a peaceful capture of a suspect.

On Sept. 3, at approximately 12:30 a.m. the Manitoba First Nations Police Service K-9 Unit were called to assist in a pursuit in progress, in Waywayseecappo First Nation.

Police were in pursuit of an impaired driver in a stolen vehicle, with approximately three occupants in the

vehicle.

After a lengthy pursuit, the vehicle was abandoned, and a perimeter was set up with assistance of the

Waywayseecappo Band Security Officers.

Police Service K-9 CETO obtained a strong track from the vehicle through thick bush and after approximately 15 minutes, one of the suspects was located facedown in the bush attempting to hide from

Ceto.

A 32-year-old male from Waywayseecappo First Nation is facing charges of:

▪ Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

▪ Resist/Obstructs Peace Officer

Two other individuals are still at large, and Arrest Warrants have been issued.

MFNPS would like to thank the Waywayseecappo Security Officers for their assistance with this incident.
