Keeping it in the Family

Turnbull’s Garage has been in business for 36 years

Turnbull’s Garage has been in business for 36 years and Aaron Turnbull, third generation son and grandson, will be taking over the operation of the well-known service repair shop.
Turnbull’s is a full-service automotive repair shop and fuel station in the tiny village of Pipestone. They provide maintenance and servicing for all cars, light and medium duty trucks and trailers. “We have pre-owned vehicles as well, which we keep lined up out in front of the garage,” says Turnbull. The garage is also well equipped to perform MPI vehicle safety inspections on all vehicles before they hit the road.
Turnbulls also specializes in wheel alignments, tire sales, after market upgrades, oil changes, radiator, brakes and auto electrical repairs. Tow truck service is available for anyone who may have a breakdown or fender bender.
Classic cars have made a few appearances at the corner garage in Pipestone as well. “We have done several engine swaps on the old vintage models,” Turnbull says. “We tune them up and kind of hotrod them and make modifications to them; the basic mechanical work.”
The garage along Highway #2 also has a few extremely mechanically inclined technicians who assist in creating a well organized and efficient team and together they accommodate people in the area.
Along with Aaron Turnbull, his team of workers include: Mason Smith (Reston), Cody Bertholet (Sinclair) and Darby Hardy (Woodnorth) and of course, Bob Turnbull, Aaron’s dad.
“My dad, Bob opened the garage back in 1985 and has owned it his whole life,” adds Aaron. “My grandpa Bob was just here always and kind of hung around because he was retired by that point. I am sort of phasing in on taking over from my dad.”
