My Youth Job Centre can help you!

My Youth Job Centre in Virden is up and running and looking for a team to create the Odd Job Squad.
Brianna Dean is MYJC youth engagement leader.

Hi, my name is Brianna Dean. I work the Manitoba Youth Job Center (MYJC) as the Youth Engagement Leader. I am working out of the Virden Employment Skills Center for the summer.

I will be here from May-August and am running various workshops related to employment and career development skills.

I will also be organizing the Odd Job Squad, which is a group of youth willing to perform casual or short-term jobs in order to gain first work experience. We will be doing smaller activities/events that can be organized and managed by the Youth such as freezie sales, window washing, window decorating, car wash, yard work.

Some of these will be paid jobs and others will be volunteer opportunities. I will be available between 8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday but feel free to contact me at other times, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I wanted to reach out to let everyone know that the MYJC is up and running again and the Odd Job Squad will be starting up as soon as I can get members. I am looking for at least five people ages 13-16. If you know anyone that is in need of career development skills, employment resources, or is looking to join the Odd Job Squad please feel free to reach out to me.

I would greatly appreciate any interest you may have in collaborating with the MYJC this summer to give youth the greatest access to employment opportunities. Whether you are an employer needing applicants for a job, or are already work with youth and would like to connect them with the MYJC- I would love to hear from you.
