Yorkton This Week has had a change in the publisher’s chair.

Jim Ambrose recently announced his retirement as V.P. of Operations Prairie Newspaper Group with Glacier Media Inc., a position which encompassed publisher of Yorkton This Week.

“Although I have resided in Yorkton and been Publisher of Yorkton This Week for a short time, I would like to thank all the staff for making my job easier and enjoyable,” said Ambrose. “I would like to thank the many people I have come to know in the city and hope to see many of you out on the golf course.

“As my career comes to an end, I know that Yorkton will be well served for many years to come with your hometown newspaper, Yorkton This Week, and I wish for them many happy, and prosperous years ahead. Yorkton, you deserve it.”

Taking over the position on an interim basis is Nancy Johnson.

Johnson has been in the newspaper industry for the past 23 years, most recently as Regional Group Publisher, Manitoba with Prairie Newspaper Group. Prior to joining the Prairie Newspaper Group, Johnson worked for TC Media as the Director of Operations in Saskatchewan and later the Maritimes Director of Operations.

“Yorkton This Week has been an important part of this community for many years and will continue to be for many more years to come,” said Johnson. “I’m very excited to be a part of that. I’m really looking forward to getting to know the community and working with the team here in Yorkton.”
