People reach out on Christmas Day

Christmas Day is no time to be alone, but what do you do if you have no family dinner of your own to look forward to?

There can be a multitude of reasons for people finding themselves on their own on Christmas Day. It’s a day that cries out for something special to happen.

A church in Virden returned to a time honoured tradition and reached out to their community. St. Mary’s Anglican Church got together and stirred up a beautiful turkey dinner and invited whosoever will to join in their banquet hall on Christmas Day.

Likewise, a Virden librarian had a light-bulb idea – why not open the library and host a board game or two on Christmas Day. And she did.
