Police intervention needed to prevent self-harm

During the week of Aug. 23rd to Aug. 29th, the Westman RCMP dealt with 85 police activities.  

Aug. 23 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of a teenager who was assaulting his family. The teenager was spoken to and calmed down by Police. 

Aug. 24 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of four people fighting. When police arrived, everyone had left. 

Aug. 24- RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of someone trying to kick down a door to a residence. Upon police arrival, the individual was no longer present. To date, the person has not been identified. 

Aug. 24 - RCMP were dispatched to the RM of Wallace - Woodworth for a report of a stolen truck. Shortly thereafter, it was learned the truck was borrowed by someone known to the owner of the truck. 

Aug. 24 - RCMP were dispatched to Virden for a report of someone threatening self harm. The person was brought to the hospital for further assistance. 

Aug. 24 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of a domestic assault. A 24 year old male was arrested and released on a future Court date. 

Aug. 25 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of an individual who tried to overdose on pills. With assistance from ambulance, the individual was transported to the hospital for further assistance.

Aug. 25 - RCMP were dispatched to the RM of Wallace - Woodworth for a report of an individual who was at risk to self harm. The individual was transported to the hospital to receive further assistance. 

Aug. 26 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of an individual who had sustained serious head injuries. An investigation has been initiated and is still under investigation. 

Aug. 29 - RCMP were dispatched to a Break and enter in Sioux Valley. Subsequent to investigation, a 20 year old male was arrested and released on a future Court date. 

Aug. 29 - RCMP were dispatched to the Virden Golf course for a report of a damaged green. The matter is still under investigation. 

Aug. 29 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of a disturbance. Upon Police attendance, police located an individual had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

17 traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
