Ray Everett of Brandon and Donna Everett of Virden visited Ethel Bowles Jan. 20.

Our sympathy to Florence Elliott, Darrell, Diane and family, Hal and Marilyn and family with the passing of Ellis. We will miss Ellis. He was always around Princess Lodge and enjoyed a little talk every day.

The birthday for January is canceled. We must follow the rules with COVID-19 still around.

Janice Simpson went to see her great-grandsons Ben and Logan Stuart playing hockey at Tundra Oil and Gas Place on Sunday afternoon. Neither of the boys won their games but they had fun playing and I enjoyed watching them.

Hello! You know how I would like to begin my report today? With a quote by Aristotle. "To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake it is necessary to stand out in the cold." Now Aristotle was a wise philosopher and scientist, but I find it hard to see the beauty of snow when I am freezing cold. This weather is "snow" joke! Just a few recorded statistics. Winnipeg is the coldest city in Manitoba. The coldest recorded temperature in Manitoba is -52.8C and the hottest is 44.4C. So, what have we to complain about?

Today we were all asked to move our vehicles so our parking area could be cleared of snow. Thank you to whoever was responsible for that blessing. My Montana needed a workout anyway.

We have many Winnipeg Jets fans here and if you missed a game, you will hear it play by play the next morning in the Coffee Room. Apparently, the last game was not the best for them.

How long Dee's Electric will be working at the fire alarm system here, I don't know. But they are working hard at it these days. Pound. Bang! Bang!

Though I have no particular news of anyone doing something special right now, I have a picture of interest. Art Rouse, a resident here has and still is making diamond willow walking sticks and canes. Some months ago, I had his picture in my report. I gave my daughter Paulina and Troy walking sticks this last Christmas. Here is a picture of them hiking at Elkwater, Alta. Art, they love their walking sticks. I wanted you to know.

As much as I know of, we have a happy relationship among the Evergreen residents. We are trying to stay warm and keep safe. Let's remember every cold day is a step closer to summer.

Quote for the Day: "We're all like snowflakes, all different in our own beautiful way." -Author Unknown
