RCMP Report - June 26, 2015

Staff Sergeant Steve Sumner reported 50 calls for service between June 16 and June 21; 25 of which were traffic offenses. There was also one false alarm from an On-Star system in a vehicle.

June 17
• Police responded to a break and enter in Oak Lake, no suspects or witnesses. The investigation continues.

• Complainant called saying his ex-wife was going through his vehicle, both were spoken to.

• Call of a possible impaired driver on the Trans Canada, police made patrols but were unable to locate the driver.

• Complaint at Oak Lake Beach of a female yelling and swearing. Police attended and located an intoxicated female. They were unable to turn her over to anyone.

June 18
• Received a complaint of an impaired driver in downtown Virden. The vehicle was located with two intoxicated occupants, however there were no keys in the vehicle.

• An off-duty RCMP member reported occupants of a vehicle passing around alcohol. Police attended and the driver was suspended for 24 hours. One passenger lied about their identity and was arrested
for an outstanding warrant. Another passenger was found to have a conditional sentence not to drink and was arrested. Another passenger was taken to the hospital with a suspected overdose.

June 19
• Police responded to a call from CFS to assist in the apprehension of children, no issues or concerns.

• Complainant reported a male on the TransCanada trying to fl ag people down, it was unclear whether he was intoxicated or injured. But the man was just looking for a ride to Alberta and he was given a ride
to Virden by police.

• Received a call of a vehicle in the ditch. Police attended and the driver informed the officers she had made arrangements to get the vehicle out herself.

June 20
• Police responded to an incomplete 911 call and found out that it was just a small child playing with the phone.

• Vehicle was seen leaving a downtown business and was stopped. Driver was found to be impaired; 24- hour suspension was issued.

June 21
• Police received a call of cattle on the TransCanada Highway, issue was dealt with.
