Reston’s Drop In receives support

Drop-in centres provide a great place for seniors to celebrate special events and enjoy weekly activities. They are very important within communities.

On Aug. 24, Reston’s Al-Res-Tone Drop In was awarded a cheque from Community Futures Westman for $1000. For 2021, Community Futures Westman redirected resources to provide immediate support to non-profits to assist with efforts needed to meet the COVID-19 challenge. This also included covering regular operating costs necessary due to closures of buildings such as our Drop In. This funding was a one-time only emergency response to organizations that have not received other program assistance or who don’t have sufficient funds to sustain their organization.
