School division honours teachers, support staff, administration and school board members

The school division's appreciation night is always an emotional time for retiring long-time teachers and other employees who have spent much of their working life at their job.

After a two-year break due to COVID-19, Fort La Bosse School Division hosted an evening at Tundra Oil & Gas Place on June 9, in honour of long-serving employees as well as those who are retiring, are leaving or have left the division's employ.

The evening awards and farewells began as FLBSD Chairman of the Board of Trustees Garry Draper stepped to the podium. Superintendent of Schools Barry Pitz brought greetings on behalf of the administrative staff.

About a half-dozen staff who've faithfully served the division for 30-plus years decided it was their time for retirement, or at least a change of pace.

School board members, FLBSD employees from Elkhorn, Reston, Oak Lake and Virden schools and the division office along with  guests (family/friends) enjoyed a banquet catered by Brierwood Creek Cafe & Grill from Kenton. Virden Collegiate Choir directed by Kim Barkley provided musical entertainment.
