Swan River police search for suspect in attempted murder case

On March 6, 2022, at approximately 12:20 am, Swan River RCMP responded to a shooting at a residence on Makaysees Drive on Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation. The initial investigation has determined that two occupants were inside a home when a known male showed up at the door. The suspect entered the home, an argument ensued, resulting in the suspect shooting the male occupant. The suspect then fled the scene in a small blue vehicle. No other injuries were reported. The 40-year-old male victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. RCMP have identified the suspect and have obtained a warrant for his arrest. Stacey Stevens, 28, of Swan River is WANTED for: Attempt Murder, Discharge Firearm with Intent and Weapons Possession contrary to Order. He is considered ARMED and DANGEROUS so do not approach and call police if seen.
