On Dec. 8 in the Brandon Curling Club two teams will vie for the Westoba Credit Union Master’s Super League championship title.

Currently leading with 9 wins -1 loss, the Warren rink (Brandon) has dominated the Rock Solid group.

There’s a three-way tie in the Money Masters Group between Walker (Portage), Brooks (Hamiota) and Renwick (Brandon) with each enjoying an 8-2 standing.

Also in the Money Masters, Lowes (Virden) will compete in his first playoff this year with a 6-4 record. Lowe’s rink is in a three-way tie with Tolton (Hamiota) and Van Daele (Brandon) also from the Money Master group.

From the Rock Solid group Haight (Brandon) and Kruk (Souris) are tied with 7 wins - 1 loss.

With group curling finished, playoffs are set to start in the Brandon Curling Club next week. The quarter finals take place on Dec. 7 at 10:00 a.m. and the semi finals are played later that day at 1:00 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 8 the final game will be played at 1:00 p.m.

The league has curled at the River View Club and the Brandon Club.  It’s top-notch curling, says Ray Hainstock who provided weekly scores to the media. In years past, Virden rinks of Murray Duncan and Sandy Ritchie have competed provincially

Murray Warren is the defending Manitoba Provincial Master’s League champion. The Westoba Super League has provided challenging curling over the season drawing curlers from Virden, Souris, Rivers, Minnedosa, and from further afield curlers drive in from Portage, Plumas, Gladstone, Hamiota and Deloraine.

“Teams from our league have done well in provincial Master’s League play. We probably have the best Master’s League in the Province.”

For those who can’t make it to the Brandon Club, the Westoba Super League final game on Dec. 8 will be televised by Westman Cable.
